Traffic Management and Transport – Wiltshire Throwback Festival 2026

To ensure minimal disruption and maximum safety for local residents during the Wiltshire Throwback Festival at Oakfield Stadium, Melksham, on 26th and 27th June 2026, a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan has been put in place.

Key Information for Residents

  • Free On-Site Parking:

Following consultation with Wiltshire Police, festival organisers have agreed to provide free on-site parking for all attendees. This decision has been made specifically to discourage parking on residential streets and protect access for local residents.

  • Pick-Up and Drop-Off (PUDO) Area:

A dedicated Pick-Up and Drop-Off zone will operate at Melksham Oak Community School from 5:00pm each day. The area will be fully staffed and clearly signposted, with controlled access and pedestrian walkways to ensure safe and efficient movement.

  • No Road Closures:
Following our data analysis from WTF25! it is deemed that road closures are not necessary for WTF26!. Last year we had no traffic try and enter any nearby neighbouring estates. We have allowed for more than adequate free parking at the festival site.

  • Event Times and Traffic Peaks:

    • Friday 26 June: 4:00pm – 11:00pm (peak arrival: 4:00–8:00pm)

    • Saturday 27 June: 1:00pm – 11:00pm (peak arrival: 1:00–6:00pm)

Expect some increased vehicle and pedestrian activity in the area during these times.

  • Emergency Access Maintained:
Emergency vehicle access will be actively managed and maintained at all times via designated routes, ensuring no obstruction to emergency services.
